I am a tried and true Blackberry fan. Since the "blue" BlackBerry, I have only owned Blackberry phones. I must be on my 8th one, who knows. I bought the Z10 on the first week that it came out and it worked well but the battery was not great. After the last 2 OS updates, the battery life tanked. The charge lasts no more than 4 hours; at best. I have tried everything that I have read in many forums (turning off wifi, reducing contrast, turning off NFC etc) but to no avail. I even bought an extra battery but not happy about that either. Rogers swapped out my phone I found the battery to be really hot and short-lived.
What's the battery life like on the Q10? If not better, I'll probably go to Samsung but that will be with a heavy heart.
I use my phone for work so emails, twitter, browsing, LinkedIn, Facebook etc. I don't ever play games. Can anybody help?

Have you tried reloading the OS and NOT restoring anything? That happened to me on the last OS I had. It would heat up like crazy and the battery was dead in hours. I finally had to load an OS and no restore. There was some rogue app running that was killing my battery.

thank you for your response. How would I reload the OS and not reload? Would I not be missing my info?

The battery life on the Q10 is pretty good, against the Z10 it's amazing. The Z30 battery life is great too!

When I had a Z10 I was getting well over 16 hours out of it though, is your battery bulging at all? if it is that can be a sign that it is breaking down
although you wouldn't normally expect to see that on a newish battery.

Might be an idea to try to get a replacement, there is also a great Z10 spare battery/charger combo search for ACC-50256-201.

It is not about battery replacement.. so many people got problems with z10 (battery life) after 102.1.1925.

We have two Z10s in our household and battery life has improved with the leaked 1925. I have my NFC and WiFi on. Not LTE since 4G is fast enough for me. I did notice that some Android apps did heat my phone up - Google Maps and Key Ring.

Ya try putting that **** on an official 10.2.1.537. Battery life has just sucked and it can't even charge past 96%. I know it?s not my battery, as it's been solid up until I updated from the 1925 leak to the official version.

It's got me thinking I should downgrade back to 10.2.1.1925, which by the way was pretty stable for my use.

So you definitley got better battery lifetime with leaked OS..?

I have Z10 for about 5 days.. I have never tried to do anything with Z10 like autoload, reload, installing OS,etc..
I'm a little bit afraid to do that, since I can see a lot of topics for "stuck" "dead" after installing OS/Radio File/
    or something like that..

If you can shoot me a PM with details about that leaked 1925, maybe I will give a try.

The battery life on my Q10 was unbelievable until the 10.2.1 update.
My first phone calls of the day, sometimes start at 6:30 am and go on from there. I can 40 calls a day along with some light to moderate internet usage and my Q10's battery wouldn't even be half way used up by 5:00 pm.
But with the update, my battery is at 50% by noon.

The "leaked" 1925 and the official 10.2.1.537 Software Release are bit identical; they're the same.

I just followed the instructions on one of the threads for both phones in regards to the leak install. So far so good. I honestly don't stress over the battery life due to our battery bundles. I feel that the size and LCD display on my Z10 is worth swapping the battery for when I need to. I use the heck out of my phone and it has been great.
