While the Curve runs BBOS, it's not considered a "smartphone" though it is considered a "superphone" (somewhere between a PDA and a smartphone).

The most I've gone without recharging is 2 days, so 5 days on a very light usage I guess it's possible if barely touched.

Personally I have an average usage of my Z10. 4 emails all set to sync manual, around 20-30 txt a day, heavy usage of what's app and bbm, twitter for reading article and very little Facebook ; used for practically the same as twitter. Also between the 4 email accounts on a regular day I get around 40 emails.

This is the reading for yesterday. So I'm pretty sure on a very, extremely light usage someone can get 5 days ... its nearly impossible but still doable.

I have got 2 full days and nights out of my bb10. Location is switched off, 3g network (4g off), emails, facebook, browsing and calls only. Soft

Want good battery life on the Z10?

I could barely get a full 7 hours with moderate use. Turned off blackberry link, and presto:

Much more satisfied with my Z10 now.

I call fake. It's possible to trick the meter to say it will last 5 days.
I can make my phone last 5 days with radio signal off and only wifi. But that's even pushing it.
IF he only has it on 2G only, I guess it's possible. But even then, I would be highly suspicious
The battery meter is a f*cking liar! That b*tch just keeps showing random number of hours and days remaining. It shows 7 hours, but then you lock your device for 20 minutes and it shows 12 hours. On full charge it shows me 3 days. And yeah, I'm on 2G, with extreme battery optimization settings... I get like 12 hours hardly.
