I rebooted it earlier this morning, and now that it's approaching 02h00 local time, I'll be unplugging it shortly, setting the alarm and heading off to bed. It will be interesting to see if this fixes the problem (I suspect it will).

    Thanks !

5 is stretching my faith, seriously. I managed to have my Z10 do 36 hours, but it was SIM less for the most time and on strong WiFi.

Extremely light usage at home can get me close to that, but usually I am seeing 4-20 hours.

Have him report the magic formula ...
For me, I can stretch my Q10 to 39 hours without a SIM. Usually I can go 18 hrs between charges and I always charge at 30 percent too.

5 days is an exaggeration in my book.

I can get a huge increase in battery by using wifi-calling (yes, t-mo USA). The selection "wifi-only" actually turns off the cell radios so it's not looking around for service etc. Huge difference.

What in the world would anyone want to have a phone with no sim in it, and turn everything off for?

Bunch of fools. Just sell your phone. Then you'll have the best battery life ever! Lol.

FYI and comparison. My wifi, nfc and location data is on all the time. I switched to 3G exclusively, and am in a dead zone, but with wifi, for ten hours a day. I send emails, BBM and use Sochi regularly during the day. I'm addicted to CrackBerry, too.

Brightness is usually at the lowest setting, and I use the flip shell case.

There are many factors affecting the stamina of the fully charge battery from the moment you unplug from the charger till a total deplete.

These factors can be external and internal.
The most commonly known external factor goes to network coverage at the place where you work, where you rest(home) as well as where you social. Hence, a well covered network won't pose any stress on your phone connection. Otherwise, even with a fully charged battery, with a poor network coverage, your phone radio will keep on search and connect for the selected network, hence the faster depleting of power.

The internal factors, goes to your phone settings as mentioned. Turn off unnecessary connections when not used frequently. Such as Bluetooth and NFC. Tone down your network connection, if you're not using the features too frequently, without Video Calls connectivity over 3G network, you don't need 3G at all. 2G is good than enough.

Try the mentioned suggestions out... see what's are the changes you observed. And you'll be amazed.

    Oh yeah... not to miss...
Those living in cold countries, especially during this winter season, expect your battery juice to deplete more faster. So... 5 days stamina may not be applicable to all regions. Faster power depletion is common on electronics used in cold climate regions.

Ever heard of mobile gaming? Wonder why the sales of PSP, DS are dropping(especially when I have to buy n slot in different game cartridges, just to play?)?
With one device, I get to download and install different types of games, I can use it to enjoy my medias, be it video or audio, I can use it as a portable camera as well. Why not?

    That's amazing.

Which OS are you on? How many email accounts connected? Can you show your cpu page for the past 24 hours? I'd like to know the average cpu usage from the main categories.

Outlook is set for a sync interval of one day, and Gmail is set to 15 minutes. Both are marked for Push under advanced settings. They're using SSL of course, if that makes any minute difference.

My Z10 gets about 8-10 hrs with moderate use which includes: Maybe 30 min music, 20-40 min of flipboard, 20 min of web browsing, checking messages every hour, half a dozen SMS/BBM messages and maybe 30 min of other misc. tasks, checking the clock, etc...

I think we all are waiting on that... I thought it was a Z30, however they only come in the dark theme, so that cancels out that theory... now I am suspecting they have one of those bigger batteries.. and of course they might come back and say.."oh it is the regular battery.. and i still can't figure out why my friend has better battery life than me.." and so on...
Just waitin to be proven wrong with an ACTUAL picture....
