Try disable both location services and usage diagnostics.

Interesting. Is this a pop or IMAP account? And if the diagnostics is on it will eat data and battery.

Rebooting the phone can solve lots of problem, lots of them can be cause by the Android runtime... Its basically the only thing that can run in your background without your knowledge. also you can remove and add your email back... push email, especially active sync can act like they have a life on their own.

Ya this is my 8th Blackberry phone and usually in the past a reboot helped a lot, But not this time. I tried to reboot many times and battery swaps (which obviously cause reboot) and no luck!

I changed it from PUSH to check every 30 mins... Maybe that will help?

Just seems weird because it didn't get changed, these settings were this way since I had it, But the problem is only 3 days old...?

Backup the phone and do a security wipe. After that bring everything back except apps. Then you can redownload apps 1 by 1 to see which one is creating problems.

I have check every hour but sometimes it is trial and error to minimize battery drain.

Delete all the apps that you've installed (you can always reinstall them later) then reboot, I'm talking every single app that you installed.

If things are working fine after that, reinstall each app one by one, giving it some time between each install and see if anything changes.

It takes some time to do it, but you'll figure out what's causing the problem.

When your phone is continually connecting and downgrading and upgrading your network connection it drains fast!

My provider was doing upgrades in my neighborhood and I used to have this happen to me on my 9900.

To test, go to setting network connections and change your mobile network's network technology... If you have lte in your area try downgrading to hspa+/umts/gsm.
See how ur phone does with this.... If it stabilizes you have an indication that your provider's ability to serve lte in your area us being affected. call 'em on it!!

Let us know how ur doing

    Cheers,

Sometimes server side things have an impact on the activesync push, but email is just one possibility. If that doesn't happen to fix anything (and it might not) then put it all back the way it was and its probably time for some app removal. whether you want to start by removing everything, then doing a reboot and seeing if its okay, or just removing one at a time, is up to you. The best method is probably remove all first, because then you at least know that you're starting from a point where your battery life is good again.

If reboot didn't work, try to remove your email for a day and see. Sometime active sync would act weird... happened on iphones lately.

Also, like bobshine said, the thread below is full of users with battery issues caused by strange activesync problems, check it out if the email thing works!

We have LTE here but it seemed sporatic and draining so I have been set on HSPA since the first week.

I deleted my email account and rebooted and then added it back again, almost seems to have worked!! I will update in a few hours!

I got 5 active sync account set up on my z10... so far knocking on wood... no problem yet. But I did run into issues on my playbook and deleting and re adding helped. Hopefully with updates, the problems would be gone

That's awesome! Just to clarify so I know in the future when I'm basking in the glory of a new BB10 device of my own, you do still have the activesync push turned on, right?

Ok I have deleted almost every app except what's app which I know that can be a battery hog but my phone continues to drain battery. I have deleted and re added my email account a few times and that makes no difference. Can someone point out a data monitor app? Follows is today's battery drain where the phone was in standby while I was in meeting.

Were you in a meeting from 9 to noon? How is your battery usage now? It's possible you had signal problems... Its typical with 3G and LTE...

I'm facing the same issue with my newly STL-2 but when I had my old STL-1 the battery was superb. I do have only one work email account. Do I have to turn the Push setting off or something?
