I've had a litany of issues with my Z10 from intermittent rebooting, to severe over heating, to itself bricking spontaneously one day. In the almost one year I've had my phone it's been out of my possession for 12 weeks, unacceptable as far as I'm concerned. 3 out of the 4 times it's been sent back it's come back "No Fault Found" despite the error still occurring when it came back. It was left up to me to sort the phone out the majority of times it's failed with both my carrier and BlackBerry (or its agents) denying fault.

Despite that I still love the phone, or rather, I love the idea of the phone.

Now a new issue has occurred; the battery won't charge, it gets stuck at 30%. Same with the spare too, will only charge to a third of where it should be. I've switched chargers and they still only charge part way. I have an external charger and they charge to 100% on that but not on the phone.

I don't know what to do, I'm at my whit's end with this phone, it has been by far the least reliable phone I've ever owned and in almost 30 years I've had more than my fair share of clunkers. The thing that pisses me off the most is the fact I can't get anyone to accept responsibility. BlackBerry have been good when I've managed to contact them but contacting them can be a chore, even so, they still try and pass the buck off onto the carrier who then tries to pass it back to BlackBerry.

I've now got an S4 as a daily driver and it's a good phone, but I still fire up my Z10 at least once a day. I love BB10 and I have a Q10 as a corporate phone but I love the larger screen of the Z, I much prefer it over the Q.

Sorry for the rant, just needed to get it out there. Anyone else having charging issues?

*EDIT* Now the battery doesn't seem to be taking any charge at all! It's gone down from 31% to 27% in slightly longer than the time it took me to post.

Are you using the stock charger?
Are you running an leaked OS? In fact, what OS are you on?

I have 3 chargers, all stock. Both batteries are from BlackBerry, I've never bought a third party anything for my phones. No leaks, running 10.2.0.429. All apps and games are from BB World, no sideloads. No apps running in the background, either. I ensure all are off when not in use.

Accepting your side of the story - the phone is DEFECTIVE. I would POLITELY DEMAND a new one. Who is your carrier? When mine would not boot but locked at 99% for 4 hours and then nothing.... Verizon shipped me a new one (or refurb). What kind of warranty laws do you have in Canada or your local province?

I have demanded a new one, but when BlackBerry ships the phone back 3 times with "NFF" it becomes pretty easy for my carrier, Telus, to deny that there's a problem. Only once has my phone come back fixed. I completely concur I have a defective phone but it seems impossible to get anyone to listen to me and it's not like I'm shy about such things. Due to this latest issue I am going to be filing complaints with various agencies in Canada, 3 at the last count. I really didn't want it to come to this, BlackBerry has proven to be a stand up company in the past and I've never had issues like this before with any BlackBerry device but I paid $600 for this phone, today I could get a new one for $350 or less unlocked, I've been patient enough.

Currently my battery will still not recharge in the device and discharge while idle is running about 10% per hour. If I actually use my phone the battery goes flat quicker than I can get my spare to charge.

Nothing's changed this morning, the battery didn't take a charge overnight while charging in-phone. In fact, the battery gauge was bright red this morning, indicating fully discharged, and switched itself off after 15-20 seconds or so. I can't rely on this phone anymore, I haven't been able to for a long time and I guess I have to say "Goodbye" to BlackBerry as a personal daily driver until I can be assured BlackBerry has its game back. Shame, I loved this phone.
