Is auto start-up a feature when you insert battery

If it's a feature I really don't like it I just inserted the battery and the device started to load half way when I haven't even done inserting the rear cover.i am just scared that while inserting the nfc cover while the device is on is gonna fry my device .

No harm will befall your device from removing or replacing the back cover while it's on. Just be sure to power down via the top button before removing the battery.
