Did anyone else really like the auto on/off feature of the BB7 phones? I did. I can't find it on the Z. I think the programmers blew it by leaving it out.

Well, I guess I must be the only one who cares about this subject............no wonder it's not on the Z!

No I wish it was there. I had my phone always turn off at midnight unless I'm out of course and always turned back on at 6am. I hope it makes its way back

It wasn't ever switched off. It only went into standby mode.

No, not an option on the Z10. Maybe it may make its way via an update soon.. Bedside mode is the closest thing! (it will turn off all notifications but that's about it!)...

I spent a long time looking for auto ON/OFF last night. I, too, would like to see it back. My bold turned off from 11 pm to 6 am. Great for the battery as well.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who liked and used it. Maybe someone will get the word back at BBRY.

I believe bedside mode is to replace this, but not sure as I never tried it yet. The device went into standby which I believe it does in bedside mode.

I do wish they bring that with multiple alarms.

I was bummed to, but as stated above, the phone goes into bedside mode when you charge it., for me this is good enough, I just don't want to get woken up by a silly phone call.

Given how the Phone powers off, I don't really think it could ever allow for auto on (auto off, maybe).

A whole new power off concept would have to be made. Because, how would the OS boot the phone when it has no power?

You guys have to remember that shutting down a legacy device was basically a hibernation mode, which the Z10 lacks.

I'd like a timer for airplane mode on/off. Bedside mode is unnecessary in my opinion because radio stays on all the time. This drains the battery and isn't so good when you sleep beside it.

I have been using BSM every night since Day One and never once does my battery drain away.

But it needs more battery juice than its necessary. When nobody can reach you because all notifications are off, why not safe the most possible power.

    Just my 2 Euro cent

Auto airplane mode would be nice. Auto on/off would be nice to have, but since the phone fully powers off when turned off (unlike legacy devices which did not, hence the need for the battery pulls to reset the device) this is likely a feature that won't be possible.

Bedside mode was always designed to be used while plugged in, so battery drain as a result of using it should be a moot point. Plug your phone in at night, or if you leave it in a different room at night, just put it on silent or vibrate only so you don't hear it.

I sure wish it was there. Used it all the time. Let it automatically power the phone down at night and up again in the morning. When working had it shut the phone down to prevent embarrassing rings in meetings etc. Was just a handy feature that set Blackberry apart from the rest.

It's bedside mode or airplane mode, I'd charge the phone at night in bs mode and if I don't want to be disturbed or just want to stretch the battery life switch to airplane mode.
