Since my Z10 is capable of running apk applications a new world has been opened for us
I have just installed the latest leak (1925) and I have been testing a few apks, which I cannot find on BB world.
The thing is, for example Barclays mobile app is built with a restriction where it cannot be installed on rooted devices. Surfing internet I found different workarounds in order to hide root on Android devices, so these apps can be installed.
Is there a way to bypass it on BB? I suppose it catalogs our BlackBerrys as "rooted devices", therefore we will not be able to install them unless we have a real android device... :s

Might help if your Barclays question was more specific - what/which Barclays is in question here? Or any other of the apps you're curious about?
I have the opposite problem. I'm trying to run logcat, but after installing the apk it opens but instead of displaying logs it says I need root access. I'm also on the 1925 leak.
That app installs and runs fine. I wasn't able to get past the login screen obviously, but I was able to get that far without any kind of permissions message or error.

Which logcat app are you referring to? I see several with that name in google play....
The version of barclays mobile banking I have checked is 1.0.0.19, is that the same one you have it? can you please upload the one you have tested it? i'd like to see if there is any difference.
I have just checked "Barclays Pingit app" with the same result...
Xavier85 I don't know how did you test it, but I am still receiving the same app message.

I just downloaded the current one from Google play via the snap app. Barclays UAE 2.0.0 looks like.
I've tried a few. Catlog, alogcat, and live logcat lite. They all tell me I need superuser permission. I don't know what to do.

Hmm, tried Catlog, did pop up a message saying unable to gain root access. My guess is that this app is designed to be run on a rootable or jail broken android device, so it's looking for a file structure that just doesn't exist in the android emulator on bb10. Remember, our android is NOT a full android os, lots of key core files, including those for "root" access are just not there.

UAE stands for United Arab Emirates, therefore is not an app valid for UK. I have been referring to the other two official apps that you can find on google play, which show the message for rooted device.

Those don't show up in snap, so the only way to test would be a sideload. Out of town for Christmas, I can test but not until next week when I return to work.
