I downloaded the app last week and now, randomly it seems, I'll pick up my phone and the app will be open as a tile.. i didn't leave it open and nothing else was running. It's okay when my phone is plugged in and charging but when it's running on battery the app continues to update and potentially just wastes my battery. Anyone else notice this?

Yep, I uninstalled it because of that. I also emailed the developer, but got no response. It doesn't matter if you turn off push notifications, it has a mind of it's own.

The same holds true for The New York Times app, it opens on it's own all the time... it drove me nuts!! I emailed them too, but no response from them either.

I love this app so I just leave it open all the time now. It's always been an issue.

Yep, and that's the review I actually posted. It would definitely be my favorite news app, if it didn't have a mind of its own.

I have it, but mine never opens by itself.

I had it, but, deleted it and installed News 360 instead as it has more news per category
