Happens all the time. In 10.1 they are making the send key smaller if I heard correctly.

By the way... If you hit the send instead of period by accident... try using the double space trick. that will automatically put a period in.

I regularly hit "Send" instead of period or backspace. In fact I think hitting send instead of backspace is an even bigger problem.

Instead of making the key smaller, how about a .75 second "press and hold" to send the message? That way it should ignore quick taps.

I always double tab the space bar for a period - just like on my previous 9700. Works like a charm.

I like this idea better than the smaller send key and think it would work better in preventing accidentally hitting the send key.

Alternatively, I think using a gesture to send could work and fit well into the BB theme. "Flick" to send sounds cool. Not sure how it could be implemented though; maybe something like flick to the right in the gray portion, where the conversation is shown.

I have occasionally. What i found more annoying when i first got phone was when swiping up from space bar to use the word i typed rather than what it thought I wanted, i would frequently minimize the app. Doing that less now.
But yeah, I always double tap space bar for a full stop (period) now.
