I have a minor annoyance while using my Z10 that I wondered if anyone else had, or if I am the only person. I don't especially care for the huge box that appears with the volume graph when you are adjusting the volume, when you change the volume it takes up a good part of the screen. This happens on the main os and most apps, when you are watching a video it brings up a similarily sized box that is perfectly centered over whatever you are trying to watch. I thought I would mess around on paint.net and show how I think that it could be improved. Just curious to hear others thoughts on if it would be a good improvement or not. I would love to see the volume slide out from the extreme side of the screen and just be a nice thin unobtrusive graph. I just added it to screenshots showing the standard volume graph box, obviously it would be in place of the large volume box, but I left it on the screen shots to show comparison. Let me know what you think. Sorry, but the landscape one has the graph rendered backwards, my mistake.

Both would work for me. But I expect the small slider graph to be the bane of some users whose eye sight isn't good.

What I would like is that the volume box to have a little bit more opacity, would be fine if they do that

I do not have any preference, the volume box doesn't stay there for that long. What you draw looks really neat though...

Yeah, I thought that could be a problem with some people. The graph itself is the same size, so just the small icons would be a problem, but the box only has the one icon showing and that is only showing that the box is for the volume control, doesn't show which way is up or down. But I would still be happy if if the slide out graph was twice as big to allow bigger icons or didn't have icons like the current one.

I agree, it's an eyesore there should be a setting to be able to adjust transparency, location, size and to hide it altogether

I dislike how big the volume notification is. It does get in the way and takes too long to go away. Especially for videos, YouTube, etc.

I would even like an option to turn the volume notification off altogether.

Anything other than the current block in the middle of my screen. What an oversight.

I thought so too, but when I searched the forums to see if anyone else had mentioned it, I couldn't find anything. I was wondering if I was the only one who thought that it was annoyingly placed

Excellent idea, I was just thinking about how annoying the volume icon is when watching a YouTube video or reading something whole listening to music. This is a perfect way to improve the efficiency of the user experience. Also it shouldn't be difficult to implement I would imagine

I like it... After all, tv manufacturers don't put up a big massive black box in the middle of the screen when changing volume on a tv for a reason.

OS 7 didn't have master volume control. And when you were, say, watching a video, a volume bar would appear in the middle of the screen. But it certainly wasn't that big.

I'd like a smaller indicator. I don't mind seeing it, especially while playing music to know when you're already maxed out (yes, i know i'm killing my ears but i live and love music). But I would love for it to be less obtrusive. Thank you for this thread.

As long as they keep it the same when you are listening to music etc while doing something else. For example when I'm listening to music and surfing the Web, it then allows me to view what I'm listening to and pause/skip the track. I love that feature

Inbetween the side volume up and down rocker there is a middle part. click on it for pause and play in your media apps.
