Well, is your carrier supposed to have the STL100-3? If it doesn't, then why would they push out an update for a device they don't have?

In india, phones are not carrier specific...
They are all unlocked and we can buy random sims,
But ya, i heard stl100-3 wasnt launched in india by BlackBerry bcos there is no 4g support anyway...
I bought it from a person who had got it from outside india...can i somehow know through imie which carrier specific the phone was when it was first brought, cos i heard some carriers like atnt n tmobile afe very slow
But one thing i marked, i brought the phone one week before, that time, phone was on 10.0 i updated ota through my same carrier to 10.1... now logically 10.2 why not?

There is A difference between the STL 100-1 and the STL 100-3. The 3 is made for 4G LTE while the 1 is designed to handle only up to 3g. So the Vodafone update for the 1 will not work on the 3. You will have to use the Sachesi method if you want to download an official carrier like Telus that works on a 3. Either that or load a leak that is designed for an STL 100-2,3, or, 4.

The reason the 10.0 to the 10.1 worked is that it was for all versions. The 10.2 released by Vodafone must only be for the STL 100-1.

    Ay, there's the rub.

Now, as for why you got 10.1 over 10.0, I'm not sure. Carriers are a weird bunch.

You could try waiting, but I'd just load with Sachesi and get it over with.

    Whats is download through leak?
I downloaded sachesi n saw options was to time confusiing will try aftrr my exams 21st nov...
The thing i got from 10.0 to 10.1 is making me at least wait till 21st nov...
And what if suppose for example this phone was brought unlocked through some us carrier like atnt, and if that carrier is slow and will update soon. Possible

Download Sachesi, then unzip it. Open Sachesi and click the tab "search ". In the Country box type 302. In the carrier code type 221. In the device box click and select Z10 and then in the variant box click on the box and select STL 100-3. Then select "search".

In the Sachesi app a window will pop up that has this title "Update 10.2.0.424 available OS: 10.2.0.1797..." click on the download all button.

It will take some time to download. Once downloaded, you plug in your phone and select install. A screen will pop up and you double click the whole 10.2.0.424 folder, or you drag band drop it into the Sachesi install window. The OS will load. Takes quite a bit of time so take it easy. When it is done loading the phone should reboot.

If after Sachesi say the install is 100% complete and your phone gets stuck rebooting, like mine did, I unplugged my phone and did a battery pull. It booted up fine and everything is great. Works on AT&T and should work on your phone.

It's not a leak if it's been released by a carrier.

As for disadvantages, it has the same possibility for bugs as an OTA update (like what happened with 10.1.0.4181 and texts). People note that their Android runtimes didn't work, but BlackBerry released the Android runtime into BB World so that people didn't need to sideload it to fix it.

Ok, so if the ota update n sachesi update are the same, then i wouldn't mind trying.
But alwz heard the ota are far more stable than external source

Sachesi gives you the update which is officially released by the carrier. You just need to change the country codes and select any operator which offers updated OS.
Then you can download the Official Update file from BlackBerry server. Then proceed to install the update file.

Please backup everything via BlackBerry Link before updating.
Have a good luck and have a great time with your z10

OTA updates and leaks all come from the same source; BlackBerry. The difference between a leak and an official is that a carrier has designated an OS build as one they are releasing to their customers. The Sachesi method allows you to load an official (which was a leak before the carrier said okay) and not have to wait for your carrier to offer an update.

Looks right, don't forget to turn airplane mode on. Sachesi post suggests taking sim out but I just turned airplane mode on so no data came through during the update.

Wind, Canada. Stl3. The only thing is, I'm guessing my carrier only optimized the radio files for +H since there's no LTE support yet.
