I always found I got decent shots in dark or poor lighting using HDR.
Is that the case here? Anyone with some dimly lit shots?

Thanks. Very shiny right now, and in great light, so I figured why not.

I deleted my post, it was very zoomed in and looked grainy, I went and took another at 0 percent zoom. Still mildly grainy, but it's at 3264x1836, which is really high resolution, especially for a camera lens in a phone.

Very impressed with it, thus far.
    True
    Eh it looked good anyways
But this one looks crazy, can't wait to try it out!

A simple way to explain and see how HDR works is to:

-take your Z10 and open up the camera app

-point the camera towards a Window, let it focus, notice you see the window and outside(or blinds) nicely but the walls beside it is dark

-now move your camera to the left or to the right of the window and let the camera focus on the wall. Notice how you can see the wall nicely now, but the window is very bright.

HDR just takes the two, merges them together and chooses the best part of them to be shown. This is a very simplified explanation, so don't hate

Quick question. When you take HDR photo, does it give u 2 photos one unprocessed and the HDR processed or do you have to take 2 separate photos to see the difference. Just wondering because my son's S3 gives 2 photos with one snap

Thank you for doing this......no offence, but the non HDR looks better. Why is that?
I'm talking to my brother exactly about that. I prefer the non-HDR too, but he works with images and stuff like that and he is saying that the HDR is better because we actually have more data on the picture to work with. In a nutshell, it's like the non-HDR is already auto adjusted while the HDR have much more potential to be leveled and adjusted (Photoshop) for commercial or business use.

I am not a photographer but if you look at the photos, sometimes shadows and not having a lot of detail in the background(it has a name but can't remember it) makes it more pleasing to the eye. HDR is like, "I'm going to force all details down your retinas at once! RAAWR!"

    Ahem. My "expert" opinion :P

I really like the quality of pictures the Z10 takes now without HDR.

This feature makes it even better.

In addition to the editing features, I'm going to have a lot of fun.
