Hello everyone. I see some anti virus apps coming up. Should this be something I should get for my Z10. Can these phones get viruses? Please advise

I think the anti virus apps are for people who have side loaded apps. Android is the least secure operating system so raises possibility of viruss on phone

Wouldn't that be like getting a windows virus when running windows in a vm?
As far as I know the android layer is just a vm ( please correct me if im wrong)

You can't get viruses through the emulator since it doesn't use native lib coding

    Thanks for that...

...I know about VMs but forget the Droid Player worked like that so I was about to shell out some bucks for an AV to keep any Android slime off my phone. Now I don't have to.

I love it when things work out for the better.

And when we do get native libs, then it's still not going to get viruses because it's an emulator so it won't affect the phone, or even the emulator!

    Mr. James said "Presume".

I am very into desktop security and applying my background knowledge here worst case is if there is malware in a Droid app you download, that is if it gets into the App World which is hopefully extremely unlikely, then as soon as you close that android app the emulator closes and therefore the malware isn't running anymore. So don't use banking apps or log into things when running a questionable Droid port...Once we get native libs.

Now I am paranoid and OCD so I would buy it anyway but given that it is currently over $5 and the list of what it protects from that could actually do anything to or on a BlackBerry is nonexistent, the logical side of my brain tells me to hold off and wait for my Luvox SSRI to add serotonin to my head.
