In 10.3 advanced interaction is an option in settings that turns off the screen when putting the phone face down and lights back up when the phone is picked up. It works in conjunction with the gyro and the light sensor. No need for swiping...

Why dont they just make a dedicated button on the bottom side of the phone and make its function changeable?

Like you can assign a different function from settings.

Hello,

I faced the same Problem with the Z10 and now with the classic.

thats my solution.

- i press h for two seconds ( did a shortcut to lock screen in shortcut menue)

- swipe up - down (like a v upside down)

- screen is off

I think it is possible to sideload an app for screen off and make shortcut to launch the app. i will try that....

How did u do the flipped V to screen off. R u on 10.3.1 or 10.2? Can u give a more detailed run thru.

I have tried side-loading SCREEN OFF AND LOCK, SWEEP etc, but didnt work at all. They just open up in the multitask window :s
