My wife and daughters has Verizon and went to check out the Z10 there and it's $199. But I can get Z10 from Amazon for only $99 with Verizon. Seems like a no brainer but is there a catch? Apparently I can used the existing Verizon account and add an extra line and score a Z10 for only $99. Has anyone went with this promotion through Verizon?

I have a friend who did , but if issues arise, you must deal with Amazon and nor Verizon.
I personally view that as a drawback.

You can not do an alternate upgrade with Amazon and if you make any changes to your plan it must be higher not lower or you get charged a fee from Amazon.

Make sure you check the best buy option as well. I know that in the past they've given any rebates on the spot instead of making you wait for the mail. They might be a good option for you too.
