    I don't travel very often and when I do it's usually with Air Canada so I don't know if I'd have this problem
    with another airline, but the last couple of times I've flown, I can't get my boarding pass barcode to
    display. Air Canada will send an email or text (I've tried both ways) with a link, but when I open it I get
    a message that says "This link can only be opened from a mobile device. Please click on the link from
    your mobile device to obtain your electronic boarding pass."
    Could it be a setting on my phone?

    I think that must have been it. I just turned desktop mode off and now when I check for my boarding pass, it says that it has expired, rather than the
    "view from a mobile device" message I was getting before. Thanks for your help.
    BTW, what is the difference between desktop mode on and off? Which should I be using on a regular basis?

    Desktop mode makes the website think you are using an actual computer and not a smartphone. When off, you'll usually end up on mobile sites. I have if turned off most of the time, unless I want to view the full site, or there's an issue with the mobile site.

    How I do it is I asked to send it by text and that works fine.
