After a year of using my z10 and a Blackberry user for 10-15 years, I'm thinking of finally leaving the family. My Sayit stopped working a while ago. My Blackberry maps voice navigation no longer works. Someone suggested loading Navfree which I tried doing but it downloads yet fails to open. There is no golf gps app available, etc etc. I hear about new 10.2 and 10.3 operating systems but when I check my settings/software upgrade it says I have the latest OS......which is 10.1. Is 10.1 the latest OS available for my phone?.....I live in the Philadelphia, PA area. Thanks for any input.

There are a few GPS golf apps.

    How Far Am I? (native)
    SkyDroid (android)
    mScoreboard (android)
    Moobitee (android)

and I am working in my spare time a native golf app.

As for your OS version. Who is your carrier? You should be able to download a newer version without waiting for them.

Wow, no wonder you're thinking about swapping to another platform.

You really must try an autoloader for the latest official release at least.

The latest OS can run a lot of Android apps as well as those built for BlackBerry.

You have nothing to lose, just make sure you back up before you upgrade.

One thing I can't understand about these decisions, even after 10 to 15 years (so pretty much from the start), is that now BlackBerry 10 is getting so much better, why leave now? Why didn't you leave when it wasn't as good?

Also, yeah, you have a problem with your phone if 10.1 is the latest, you should be on 10.2.1 minimum officially.

You definitely need to leave the family of candy bar phones and move on to the Passport.

On a serious note: spend and hour in the leak section of the forum. Afterwards you will feel like having a brand new phone

    Sachesi is your friend.

It's very simple, go through OS forum for carrier codes etc. Download. Install.

    And we'll welcome you back!

Your carrier updated to 10.2.1 about a year ago I think. Something is wrong. I'd call them. 10.1 is really old.

Wowzers I haven't been on 10.1 in over a year. Like they're suggesting spend some time learning how to run an autoloader in the forums section. It's so easy to do really. I would suggest going with 10.3.0.1054 as a daily driver. I know they're a few different versions of 10.3.1 but I think 1054 is the most stable to run as a daily driver.

    Yes, do the OS update.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but can a different carrier sim with a more current OS simply be put in the phone and hit check for updates?

Agree OPs is just looking for an excuse to jump ship. There are plenty of "How to" and Leaks to choose from on this great board.

Then, their latest official version is 10.2.2. I don't know why you are not getting it on your phone. I used to be on AT&T and received the update notification from them. You may have to do the official update using Link from your computer or jump into installing auto loaders (it is not difficult to do) .

OP, I am Verizon, so not totally sure about your software. The update never showed up on my device until I connected to Link on my laptop. Let me tell you that I think you deserve some kind of medal if you stuck with the old OS this long.

You won't believe how much better the update is. Like a new phone. I am not into leaks (hush, children. Some of us have legit reasons we cannot use leaks), but there is also that option. If you don't see an update, call AT&T. You won't regret it, and I bet it does away with your urge to jump ship. Please ignore the rude behavior by the children. Most CrackBerrians are a generous lot and there is usually someone who can help you out.

Sidebar: Geez guys! Why do you get so emotional and harsh? The OP didn't insult your mother, he simply shared legitimate frustration & a simple question.

I recommend you check your term "candy bar" as you will see the PassPort is candy bar style as well. You will be hard pressed to find any smartphone now that is not candy bar style.
