Sometimes when I add a calendar event, whether it be on google caldav or local/personal, it takes "forever". The screen fades and I get the swirling circle, but that continues for about 3 to 5 minutes. Very annoying. Other times, it saves it immediately. Anyone else have the same problem?

I have not noticed that. Who is your provider? If it's Verizon there is an update expected that will provide bug fixes.

My carrier is Koodo, but I don't think it has anything to do with them.

Like I said, even when I save to local calendar, it still stalls. My guess is that the Z10 is still attempting to make a connection with Google's server even when saving to local (which would be unnecessary but would explain the delay). Otherwise, it makes no sense that it would take so long just to save a calendar event.
