Hi, for some reason, the sd card I'm using that was in my android phone and is now in my z10, created a duplicate file/folder that was in my misc folder, labeled as android. It had duplicates or so it seemed for all my photos and videos. So I deleted them. Turns out they were actually linked somehow and now the pictures and videos that were saved to my "Device" are gone.

Yes, that is how the Android run time gets access to the shared folders.

Don't always assume that the OS has done the wrong thing

I hope you have a back up.

On a side note, is there anyway to get rid of this? I don't plan ever using an android again and don't even understand why it did this.

You can try running photorec and see if it can recover your files.

hi! unfortunately something similar happened to me and i deleted lots of music and pics on my device because they appeared three times. I Have a z10 as well. but my files were deleted from my built in device storage. is there anyway i can access my built in device storage in my computer (and not via wifi because my software only recovers files when connected via usb ) because usb mass storage setting only allows the laptop to open the media card.. please help!!!!!

I _THINK_ you can gain access to the internal storage using usb. Tweak the settings on/off for Mass Storage. I believe I've seen references to it kind of working backwards.

Keep mass storage off. The computer should show two removable drives.
