Don't know what happened, but none of the Android ported apps that I got from BlackBerry world work anymore.

Not Waze, not Stocks, not Open Sea, not Air Control, not Car Finder, nothing.

Anything that was ported over now just loads with the BlackBerry logo sort of shining and then it automatically closes the app, every.time.

I've deleted and reinstalled the apps, no dice.

Any idea what's going on here?

Have the other monks not give you the memo? Pulls have been replaced with a simple reboot!

So, OP, reboot. Hold the top buttom.

I still prefer battery pulls over reboot. I did a reboot a couple of times and my phone would not restart. It just kept acting as if it was trying.

I bet, as it was trying to check and fix the filesystem that was damaged from previous pulls.

I've had that issue before. The only thing that fixed it for me was doing a factory restore, and NOT restoring from a backup.

If you would have searched there are a few threads on this. I have noticed that this generally happens when u are super low on battery and then try to open a ported android app. The blackberry logo flashes and the app hangs and does not happen.

    Solution -
    1. I first would try to recharge the phone to full 100 percent and then give the app a try. If that does not work reboot after 100 percent of charge and try again.

    2. If that fails then the only other option is to do a full security wipe and reload the os. Do not restore from a back up.

My experience with two issues (apps not accessing GPS and issues with duplicate contacts) were not solved with restarts. As soon as I did a battery pull they were fixed.

A reboot doesn't cut power to the hardware, and maybe that is what was required in your case. However, maybe a proper power down and power on would have accomplished the same result without ripping the rug out from under the OS.

Backup and restore your settings and media, reloading the apps isn't too difficult. Usually a full restore helps.

I see bb is looking at some apps and making them bb10 compatible so maybe this is the issue, but others have stated already they have no issues with the programs your running.

So maybe you gave a OS issue?

Maybe do a backup and then a wipe and then restore.

This problem started after I previously did a full backup, security wipe and full restore.

I guess I have to do a full security wipe again and just manually restore part by part

By any chance have you changed any app permissions?

Some apps won't launch ( look like they crash) if they don't have specific permissions enabled.

Waze sucks too laggy and complex for a gps app.
As for the OP do a backup and the wipe if not then you might have to reload your OS
