It wanted to connect a DELL monitor attached speaker/amp with my Z10 via 3,5mm jack, but it doen't work (it works with a winphone). When putting other audio appliances in the Z10 earphone jack it needs a moment until the Z10 internal speaker switches off and the audio leaves via earphone connector. So my question is whether the Z10's 3,5mm connecter switches off the internal speaker by a common hardware switch or does the Z10 detects first somehow externel devices on 3,5mm before switching? If the latter can I enforce the Z10 by settings to send the audio signal through earphone connector and switch off internal speaker?

This is a multi part answer.

On a cell phone the jack does mechanically break the electrical connection to the speaker. The software also detects the change and adjusts volume for the headphone jack.

You may have some debris in the earphone jack that is disrupting the signal. Try a paper clip to see if anything is down there.
