I have been bragging on my 2nd Z 10 then tonight I had to send a text. I couldn't do it!! Every time I tried it would only give me e-mail options. I couldn't get it to text a phone number.

Anyone else have this issue?

Yes, someone tried rebooting several times, I still can't send a text to a phone number. I can't send a screen shot I have already repackaged it for return. I am hoping for a simple explanation so I won't have to return it today. Thanks

Well I just returned from Best Buy. Their Geek Squad couldn't get to text either. I am done with this great new device which is unable to do what a ten year old phone could do! I know all the excuses for Blackberry. I am back to a phone I have never had a problem with in 5 years, the iPhone.

Btw: off topic, but I can't imagine geek squad having more knowledge of the Z10 then people on this board. There is just too many devices in best buy for them to try and be an expert on all of them.

How is it that you were unable to? I just went to Contacts, found my own information for my SGIII, there was an icon that said Text, pressed that, and proceeded to write a text.

Don't go to message. Go to Contact. If you have a phone number assigned it will show up with the option to text.

I should have tried from contacts, I always entered the name on the text itself, and if you typed a name it would come up with the mobile phone number.

If you are in Text Messages on the hub, you can press "Compose", then choose contacts with phone numbers, or type in a phone number yourself...where exactly is it that you were pressing "message"?

Once you've texted someone I"m sure the phone will learn your contact. I never text anyone, always BBM, WhatsApp, or straight email. But this is how I just did it, straight from contact.

Sounds to me like you aren't very intelligent, you couldn't just compose a msg and then it would all be there. Also why didn't you ask this simple question on here before returning it. Way to pick a worse phone in th iphone.
