Hey NYC, curious about the Q update. Is your phone a stock, t-mo branded phone? Which release version of 10.2 did you get? Does your wifi-calling work OK?

I'm on TMO US and am happy to wait for official release...don't need the drama of loosing Wifi calling or the other dances being discussed here, but I must admit it is interesting to see the pain I am avoiding. Press on you brave souls :-)

Sorry, but it looks like this is false. Have been reading of people on T-Mo (USA) loading it and it disables wifi-calling. Looks like the T-Mo version will have a different radio.
Well yes, all the 10.2.x versions thus far have not had working WiFi Calling.

If you load it you will lose that until T-Mobile releases their own version that has it included.

Oh great. I was going to load a leak since the T-Mobile USA official release seems to be months away. Now I'm stuck with 10.1. Ugh.

I need WiFi calling otherwise I don't get signal at home.

it looks to me like unlocked phones are getting the update pushed. I rather wait for the official than lose some functions just to have 10.2 (although wifi calling isn't my concern). Also Tmobile has proven to me at least to be on time with their updates.

People are claiming all kinds of things, but the bottom line seems to be: if you have an unlocked CANADIAN BRANDED (maybe just Rogers) phone running on the T-Mo USA network you will get pushed the CANADIAN (Rogers?) 10.2. Reports are 100% it kills wifi-calling. I have a T-Mo branded, unlocked phone and am not getting it. And if I were, I wouldn't install it. I can wait.

The other thing to remember is, if you load the Canadian version, you will probably NOT be notified when the correct version is pushed.

Technically the first day of winter is December 21st - hopefully 10.2 will get pushed out way sooner then that.

Just an opinion/thought, but with Verizon releasing the Z30 some point in November that would obviously mean that 10.2 passed Verizon's carrier testing. Could any assumptions be made that once we know a release date for the Z30 that Verizon customers could possibly expect the 10.2 release around the same time as the Z30 and then further assume that T-Mobile's push out of 10.2 is not far off? Verizon having a bigger network and covering more areas then T-Mobile probably has a more in depth carrier testing process one could speculate. Clearly all just an assumption but do others think that it could be realistic?

I'm fine waiting. My phones been working pritty well for a long while and I don't want to screw that up with a leak or anything not pushed out by tmo for my z10. Some BlackBerry phones seem to like the update or hate it so I won't take the risk.

+1. In fact, even after the legit 10.2 gets dished out, I'll wait and see if it screws up wifi-calling before I update.

If in advance, postings will say: "Wifi-calling crushed!" They already say that.

Yes, that's the place to look -- thanks for the info. BTW, also suggests a Z30 could be setup to run wifi-calling.
