i recently got my z10 and it kept freezing and going off, i read about it online and they said the 10.2 update might fix the problem so i did the update, almost at the end of the update the phone froze up again so i took the battery out and when the phone came back on whats app was the only app that worked, i cant make or receive any calls the apps wont open and blackberry hub is totally black, i read that after the update it would take a few hours to get back to normal but its been more than 5hours and nothing whats app is the only app that still works

You don't have to pull the battery out. Just press the top button or the volume up/down buttons to restart the device. Just keep on pressing one of the options until the device restarts.

She updated using OTA Software Update, not by using an autoloader.

And the latest leaked OS as of now is 10.2.1.1925.

What you need to do is start BlackBerry Live on your computer, connect your phone to your computer via USB and reset your device to factory settings.

Same thing happened to me when I tried over the air updating my OS on my BlackBerry 9000. I'm always update via USB now because of that. I hope you did a backup before updating...

Once your device is reset, try installing 10.2.1 via Saschesi (I think I spelled that properly). 10.2.1 is definately worth the effort

    Good luck!

I think this is what you did wrong. You shouldn't pull the battery out or turn off/restart the device while it's updating. Nonetheless, can you check Software Updates again?

Do you have BlackBerry link installed on a pc? If not, download and install it and update your phone from there.

By reading her posts, it seems to me that she isn't used to updating her device alone (without someone knowledgeable). So I think it may be too complex for her to go on the path of installing leaks.

Easiest way to get your phone back is to install blackberry link on your pc or Mac. See links below. This will load the most recent software from your carrier. You may want to forgo installing "What's App" on your phone until you know it is working properly again.

    1. Open link and attach your phone.
    2. Once your phone is recognized, select the tab for your phone on left.
    3. Select "Back Up and Restore" tab.
    4. Select "Factory Reset" set.
    5. Leave your phone connected and WAIT until it restarts. Do NOT disconnect your phone.

Hi there, I'm having trouble with my phone too so am trying this. If I restore to factory settings, will I lose all my apps?

As long as you re-use your original BBID, you can get them back from BBWorld. They may not automatically be restored if have not done a backup using BB Link. But they can be downloaded again.
