I can endorse that. I am sort of heavy user in LTE network. Before 10.2, I typically use 3 charges a day. After 10.2, I am now down to 2 charges with quite a lot to spare on the 2nd charge. The phone is also a lot cooler to the touch when I use it. It did take 10.2 to settle in though. The two days immediately after upgrading was like daylight murder of battery.

    Hey Black Bee Gee,

Where did you get that battery monitor? I found the same "Device Monitor" page but it only shows "cpu" & "memory", no "battery" tab and no "battery" on the drop down list. WTF???

    On Z10 OS10.2.0.424

I'm on a leaked version of 10.2, and battery life is better. But about 5-6 hours during a work day is the best that I can get.... on the weekend when I'm not really using it I might go all day. But there is nothing impressive with the Z10 Battery Life at ALL!

I've checked my apps. Via the new App manager. Nothing seems to be spiking. Mind you not 100% sure on what I should be looking for either. I'm guessing it's the cpu usage right?

I had this android app i downloded from blackberry world that killed my battery, i generally charge once every 24 hours, but after downloading it I would have to charge once very 8 or so. I deleted it restarted my phone and I'm back to 24 hour cycles. So check the androind ported apps you have

The strength of Wifi signal is very important .
I discover this the other day.
I left my z10 in the car parked outside a bar which Wifi profile I had saved on my device.
20 minutes later, I go to get my cell and I find the battery had almost drained out and the device was very hot.
During all that period the phone was struggling to connect to that wifi profile which was almost out of range.

BINGO! Had the same thing happen w/ my old Torch. Normally get through a full day or two without charging, but was discharging like crazy staying connected to Best Western hotel wi-fi.

As far as wifi goes, I know that with some devices such as android in particular, when the device is awake and you are not logged into a network, the device will continue to scan for networks, anywhere from every 30 seconds to every 3 minutes, unless you manually change this setting. I see no way to change this setting on the Q. As far as overall battery life, some days I'm plugging in before bed and others not. I'm on the Q10, on the 10.1 MR. I'm hoping battery life does improve with 10.2. Waiting for sprint to push it out.

Also I turn my wifi off before leaving for work, as there is no network there. I don't know if it saves any battery or not, but still see no need to have wifi on when I'm not going to be connected.

Ported remove applications from Android and you'll see that the battery is enough for much longer.

I have a Q device. Wonder if the OS is optimised for different devices.
When I got the Q around launch it was ok re battery life. Then it settled and gave me absolutely amazing battery life, about 24 hours of my regular usage at least. I was thrilled.
10.1 MR dropped, battery life dropped to 3/4 of what I got before. Same usage. Phone would get hot. Now I could just barely squeeze through some of my 12 hours shifts.
Now 10.2, official updates only. Battery life has dropped again. Now it dies before the end of my shifts. No usage change.
Very disappointed at the moment with battery life on my Q.
This is all with no real gaming or intensive use.
Ported remove applications from Android and you'll see that the battery is enough for much longer.

I'm running 10.2.0.1371 and charge whenever I have the opportunity.

It comes off the charger at 8a and if it's left alone it wants feeding by 3p.

I've just got used to giving it juice whenever I can.

I ordered the Mugen 3800mAh battery and couldn't be happier. It adds a bit of 'heft' to your Z10 but works a charm, imo.

Battery life was never an issue in BB10. I see significant improvements in the updates. It would be great if the bed side mode can turn into a clock only mode where all background processes are stopped to conserve battery. It could be like a standby mode which runs on less resources.

This is, unfortunately, the only way to keep the juice flowing in the Z... I have yet to test my official 10.2 battery life, but I do see an overall increase over MR... It does, however, need a regular charge through the day...

    From the Z...

Nice catch. I didn't understand how two similar sized batteries could have such a difference in mah ratings. I know of know variants on LiPo batteries which could allow for more electron to be packed into the same size cell.

I would generally agree, battery life on Z10 is nothing special. I am happy to see it get better though and getting through the say without a battery swap is all I ask.

I do carry a spare in my car though.
