My battery life was OK before 10.2.1. Now it drains in a few hours. I am so disappointed.
Nip into the fancy new Activity Monitor and see what the worst offender is that's pulling the usage. My biggest by far is the phones screen - its using 30% or more of the total battery drain. Brightness is low, but can't really do much about it.

Everything that falls below it I can sort of control. It's biggest drain second and third to the screen is Network (LTE) and Snapchat (Android). Disable my phone looking for the former, and use the latter less. Solved. :-D

Mate you should make a thread talking about that battery. I wish you had shown me earlier. Would have been awesome

Battery life dramatically improved on my Q10! The first 24 hours were bad due to the excessive use NOT because of the update!

But after two days with regular use the battery life definitely improved!
Maybe because of not needing to run Battery Lover in the background...

I've found the battery life fairly consistent regardless of OS version: It's terrible.

My Z10's performance was making my Lumia 920 look bad, and that took some going. Via this site after some research, I found and ordered this:

    https://forums.crackberry.com/e?link...token=2oLiZcvs

I can get a typical day off my Z10 with it, and can't recommend them enough over the puny capacity of the stock battery.

    Just a thought...

I have seen this battery, the label has to be inaccurate. There is no way to increase the capacity of a Lithium battery without increasing the battery's size. It's physics not magic.

From my own experience, this os was the worst for battery by far afternoon install. Finally after a few days of waiting for the os to settlement in yet watching the Z10 drain before my eyes in a few hours, I pulled the battery out ( after shutting off phone). Waited a minute or so and put the battery back in.

The battery life has now been the same as any other OS since then. I cannot explain it since there did not appear to be anything running in app manager. Just the system was using the most power. After battery pull, all is normal.

Just my own experience based on the leaked OS with the 1926 radio.

I'm getting some noticeable enhancements in endurance off the thing, so don't give me that. Did it ever occur to you that despite the shape of the battery, BlackBerry's one may not have the Lithium Ion cells as tightly packed as you could have done into the same footprint? The non-removable battery from the Z30 doesn't have a significantly bigger footprint to the battery in here neither - that boasts a 2800 Mah capacity.

This golden battery is also a lot heavier, takes a lot longer to charge, and definitely a lot longer to discharge...I'm not imagining my Z10 running longer, it actually does.

I'm going away to do some tests with the battery removed from this phone to see what the cell capacity of it actually is. :-)

Damn unfortunately I ordered one already. It was $15.00 for 2680mAH. If I had received your offer I'd have taken it.. but it's only 200mAH off the gold ones I saw on ebay so as long as it works it would be an improvement. The other oem battery I bought cost 10 anyways ah and it's no good for my power usage

Where did you find the new battery w 2680mAH?

I'm making an app right now that will place huge stress on the CPU and run it flat whilst making a note of the discharge time.

Scratching the grey matter, based on the purported 5.25 watt hour rating on the label of the gold battery, coupled with its purported capacity and the sustained voltage readings I'm seeing in my multimeter - this battery capacity may only be some 1400 Mah mathematically speaking. It does last longer though over the stock battery, so I'm going to keep digging...

Not entirely true, Blackberry have produced their battery down a price, not down to a capacity. So its not unreasonable to assume there are 3rd parties selling genuinely higher capacity batteries, but you do pay for what you get! And I don't doubt there are a number of "fake" (falsely advertised) batteries out there!

If its a thing about size, I've got quality 18650 batteries at home with a higher than 3000mah capacity, in actual volume they are smaller than the Blackberry 1800mah battery.

I've got a 2100mah battery, and from general use I've seen about 40mins longer use than the 1800mah unit, and I've been screen shotting each night and I tend to use my phone fairly heavily throught every day.

I've noticed less battery life since the update of the OS. I checked my device monitor and it shows my Display at 75%, System at 55%, Standby at 30%. My Display brightness is below half on the slider and my warm/cool setting is also just below half on the slider. Any suggestions. The screen shots I've seen show the Display % at much less than mine. I'm on Verizon w a Z10. Thanks

Anytime you update, expect the battery life to take a hit for a couple of days. After that it should settle down and be similar to what you experienced before the update.

What I just saw: I turned off and took out my battery at 4%, waited a few minutes and put it back in. Then plugged in my charger before it booted fully. I checked my battery power and I have 34% all of a sudden!? Weird.

Honestly the display is the biggest culprit. The screen consumes much and also the multitasking is a battery b!tch. Not much can be done. I've suffered from this as well

I bought a similar battery on Ebay for $15 incl. postage. They said it was 2650 ma or something like that. I, too, was wondering how they did it without increasing the size.

In any case, it seems to have about the same life as my OE batteries (I have two of them).

After I updated my wife's Z10 the battery life has improved considerably. At 10 pm the phone still has 40% charge. Previous to the update it would be 20% at that time.

Battery was the best when I had 10.1. The only thing that comes close was 10.2.1.1055. I charged my battery every two days. Ever since I put on .1925 two weeks ago, it needs to be charged every 20 hrs or less! System is always above 10-20% since last charge. Last 48 hrs was 72% on system, 39% on display.

    If .1055 wasn't so buggy I would've kept it.

Well, at $15 it's not too bad of a ripoff, even if it's the same as OE. It could be a little better, even, in terms of battery life. Not the worst scam I've ever seen.
