Perhaps I am not understanding correctly but it seems that RIM has made 10.1.0.1485 available for download at this URL Updating the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha Device Software - Download for Windows - BlackBerry Developer

I have no idea if this the 'FULL' OS but I am going to try it and let you know. It will take a while since I have to download this on to my Windows machine (which is painfully slow). I will report back here once I have put this on my Z10.

If it is the full Z10 10.1 OS, then it should mean I will be able to install Skype on my Z10... Anyway, I will keep you posted.

I don't think is a full version, this is the developers version missing many basic apps like music, bbm voice and video and alarm clock.

Also where would you download Skype from? It's not available.

Late post. This OS was leaked several days ago and some Z owners, like myself, have it installed on our phones. It is not the full release, i.e. it is an hybrid version, and no, Skype will not work on it. Please do a forum search for discussions on 10.1.0.1485 if you need more details.

It is not available for the Z10 but Skype Beta is available in BB World for the Q10.

There is autoloader available that actually IS the full 10.1.0.1429 for the Z10. I have it on mine, and it works great.

The downside: Skype is not yet in BB World.

Skype is now avaible and running on my DEV ALPHA C which is running 10.1

I was thinking if I can get 10.1 on my Z10 then I can have skype now but perhaps that is not the case yet. I will let you know what I find.

It is missing some functionalities; e.g. payment option; some voice apps like SayIt and Parrot do not work, just to name a few.

    Hey Thunderbuck,

Since you have 10.1 all ready running on your Z10, can you go to m.crackberry.com and click the blog posting that is anouncing Skype for Q10. What does it say when you click that link on your Z10. Does it let you download? If it says its not available for your device then perhaps I can extract the BAR file from my Q10 (not sure If i can but i will try) and then you can sideload it onto your Z10. What do you think?

Skype saying OS10 but online it says 10.1. Might be some iss with 10.0 maybe it's running under android runtime? tbecause they will update that in 10.1.

Something FUNNY : On the website of SKYPE they only talked about TELKOMSEL and that is a Indonesian provider , It;s so weird.

Dude didn't post any screen shots to show it worked or the bar file. I took that thread with a pound of salt.

That's because a few select few carriers worldwide already have Skype for legacy BB. Those are Three UK, Vodaphone, Verizon and Telkomsel. The help page you unearthed is ancient history though. hehe
