I just installed 10.1 on my STL-1 and noticed some problems
1.Video, music, pictures home icon are missing and dont know what to do ....
    2. Some apps which are built in in previous OS are missing and did not come back with back up restore.
    3. Call app is still slow as previous os takes 3 to 4 seconds to load and if a scrool fast it just vanished..puff
Dont know what Rim is doing when they are going to fix it..it is blunder on their end. one of my friend saw that and said is it chines :s it was embracing( he is Iphone fan).
Blackberry stated very clearly that this is NOT a full OS and give you instructions on how to re-install the previous OS.

Which update are you running? I have 10.10.882 and haven't noticed that much better battery life. I still gotta charge it at least once a day
Do I have a unique battery or something special??? I'm a heavy user... emails& Texts all day, I can go 2 days straight without looking at the charger... this is strange..

Battery life seems to have improved slightly but I believe this is only because of less sync features aka Facebook

Phone also seems to run 10x faster that my last release which was. 85

Does the phone perform quicker and smoother ? Sometimes my phone is laggy on certain areas.
Even if the phone is quicker --- it doesn't mean anything because it is a strip down OS. You won't know how much quicker it is until you have the full OS.

Even though the display is a big part, if not THE biggest part of battery consumption.

Another one is how hard your antenna has to work to get signals. Maybe your outside more, maybe your building is not made of bunker-like concrete. Maybe you have an office Window instead of a server guy in the basement or closer to the middle of the building. Some have 5 email accounts polling every 15 minutes, etc.

There are many factors when you are dealing with different people with different habits and environments.

I personally go home with 40% but I can understand how others can have issues.

Or maybe my battery is faulty.

I barely get thru a half a day.

Maybe could be I'm on Verizon and 4G drains my battery.

I'm running the same OS but today my battery life was relatively poor. I took it off the charger at 8:30 this morning and I'm at 25%. I guess it has to do with the cell radio (my university gets terrible AT&T reception) but I do notice that location services are sometimes running in the background, despite not having run an app that uses location at all. Between the update from AT&T and today, battery life has been fantastic. Today, though, my phone was losing over 10% an hour.

Maybe it was just the signal, but I was really hoping we'd get granular battery reporting in this update. I guess there's still a lot we don't know yet so I'll keep my hopes up!

How does the Power Button unlock feature work exactly? It just bypasses the lock screen all together?

What about when your phone is requesting a passcode after ~15 minutes or so? Does it jump right to the pass code? I would like it to only show the lock screen when the phone is actaully locked via passcode after 15 min.

It'll jump right past the lock screen aka think of the 9900 and if it's locked it'll jump right to the unlock again think 9900 unlock

Just a quick test done in my living room.

    Normal
    Attachment 152184

    HDR
    Attachment 152185
No offense but that's not really a good example - here's my take, with my Xperia T, in my office at work, with and without HDR, respectively:

    10.1 Developer Beta Released-dsc_0289.jpg

I think now the difference is fairly obvious...

Back one more time to the notification settings: Does it now allow to set notifications for individual contact's text messages like ringtones for each contact?
I didn't see this answered, please has this been added?

Thanks but does it allow sms notifications to have custom tones because as somebody else previously said you could only set phone and email/message tones before?

I've uninstalled and gone back to 822... the LED setting on your screenshot above, can you change colors/patterns?

This is really disappointing, something so simple that even most dumb phones can do.

Smart move luckily I can live with this as a daily until 10.1 official is released through Rogers
