It built into the OS. As for BlackBerry link running on a computer, no it doesn't. I assume it's using some of the wifi sharing services that BlackBerry link installs when you first install it. I currently have access using wifi disable a on my Z10 so this is very impressive.

tell your computer Windows/Mac/Linux what folders to share. Once you have shared folders the Z10 should show those folders when you select your laptop or PC on the Z10.

If you are on Windows click Run under the Start menu then type cmd. Then type net share and this will tell you what folders are shared on computer

you may have to "map a network drive" to get it to "look/see" the other way,,, similar to what you have to do here------------->>>

    no love....

I have my Z10 assigned a static IP via my router. I have a share set up on the desktop that is detectable fro my laptop...no problem.

I can ping the Z10 from my desktop, all ok. no packets lost, etc., etc.

Can't see the share from my Z10 via filer. probably still have a detail that I am overlooking....

How did you assign your z10 a static ip via the router? That's what I need to do cause it keeps changing.

I can only speak to my router model, but, I assume most will have same/similar functionality. (Cisco WRT160N)

Log into your router. Go to the page where you set up your IP address range. There should/may be a "client Reservation" functionality available. In my case, I had the router assign the IP address, turned out to be 192.168.xxx.yyy. (xxx and yyy whatever your router assigns)

The WRT160N allows you to turn this into a "DHCP Client reservation" via a mouse click. This means, that the reservation never expires. Thus, when the BB is out of range, the IP address is released, but not re-assignable. So, next time it detects the BB, it will give back that exact same address, in essence, a static IP address.

    Hope this helps out.

Am I reading between the lines that you can see shares on your 'pooter from the Z10 via filer?

in your signature you say you are BB Link(less). If you don't have BB Link installed you may want to install it.

yeah...sorry.... Link is installed. I was having issues with it some weeks ago, thus the "sig rant".... I'll change it. (sorry)

    Not quite yet...

Can't figure out how to get it to see shares on my pc, even though pinging and all normal tcp-ip troubleshooting returns normal.
