I keep getting mixed messages about the future (or not) of BBM music subscription. Is it going ahead or not.
    A definitive please.

Here's an email that somebody I know got from BlackBerry about half an hour ago that I think sums it up:

BBM? Music service will be discontinued as of June 2, 2013*. For paying customers, April is the last month that you will be billed. In May, as your BBM contacts stop using the service, songs in your playlists will begin to turn grey and will no longer be available.
After the service is discontinued, we recommend that you delete the app from your BlackBerry smartphone by completing the following:
    1. On the home screen, click Options
    2. Click Device > Application Management
    3. Select the BBM Music app
    4. Press the Menu key > Delete
Though BBM Music is going away, you can still listen to great music on your BlackBerry. We?re giving you a 30-day pass to Rdio, which gives you unlimited, on-demand access to more than 18 million songs, including the latest hits and classic albums.
To get Rdio on your BlackBerry and claim your voucher, you will need to do the following:
    1. Visit http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/25620885 on your BlackBerry and click Download
    2. Launch the Rdio app and create your new account by clicking Get Rdio Unlimited
    3. Verify your account, then relaunch the Rdio app and log in
    4. Press the Menu key > Settings
    5. Click Redeem Gift Card
    6. Paste this voucher code into the redemption field:
    7. Click Redeem
*Date may be subject to change

I have moved on to using rdio. blackberry sent me a 30 day free trial. it is a great app like spotify just cheaper. the subscription starts from 4.99. Without the blackberry code you get a 13 day free trial. only downfall is that is a battery drain. Give it a try.
