Do you have a steady data/wifi connection?
If so and it still doesn't open, try doing a device reset by holding both volume buttons for a while and try opening BlackBerry World again after startup

As said above. Either data connection issues or a reset will fix it

My wifi is good. This is the message I get. The message is:
There was a connection problem, BlackBerry World must close.

My Verizon Z30 10.2.1 was doing the exact thing about a week ago. Initially the only way I could restore function to App World was to turn off the network connection, allow it to reconnect and for whatever reason that seemed to work. However, the frequency of the error increased over the course of a few days and disconnecting the network and even reboots failed to remedy. Then connecting to BlackBerry Link was even problematic. Following a successful backup, did a security wipe - and restored, everything is functioning as it should and the phone is faster than ever. Haven't had a hiccup with app world since either.

I am always updating fresh to the latest leak.... so never had it running for more than a few months..... hope wiping it sorts it out.....otherwise you can tinker with sachesi and reload the bbw or the radio.....

Temporary work-around: open your music folder. Go to overflow menu (3 dots on the bottom right) and select BlackBerry World. This will permit you to browse, search, download and upgrade apps or music, but it still does not solve the crashing.

I have been receiving the same message for 4 days or more. BlackBerry World closes always on the first attempt, but it runs on the second.

One clue is that it may be related to an app I purchased, but is no longer listed in BlackBerry World: Sportrate (PRO). Apparently it's supposed to be a temporary absence. There is an update listed for it, but tapping Update yields the message 'requested content not found'. I surmise that BlackBerry World gets confused when it opens and refreshes the updates list.

I had exactly the same problem a while ago, and I spend about a month to try to fix it. Mobile provider (O2) was saying that every thing was OK on their side and I could not make it work. And than due to horrible customer service I switched to Vodafone and problem solved in a matter of hours. Needless to say that that O2 CS was saying that I need BIS for my Z10 this should explain how educated O2 workforce is. Try SIM card from different provider.

In my case the message and crash was directly related to a BlackBerry World app that was in the process of update by the developer, but the link to BlackBerry World was broken due to a problem with the developer's server.

I guess every time I would open BBW, it would hang in limbo due to this connection problem. I deleted the app, and proper operation was restored. I sent a message to the developer and he fixed the problem on his end within hours. Then I reinstalled the app.

If you can get BlackBerry World to run, see if there is an app in your list that has a pending update but won't correctly complete. That could be the problem child.
