Hi, if I get my bold locally unlocked via imei, will RIM block my pin and my bold is trackable?

No, unlocking a phone is quite common and it just allows it to be used on any GSM network rather than the specific carrier's network that you purchase it from. Ex: If you buy an AT&T BB you can unlock it and then use it on T-MO. RIM doesn't care if your phone is unlocked or not.

RIM doesn't care if you unlock it. But all phones are trackable. Face it, it's a post 9/11 world.

Will unlocking my ATT Bold give me back a "blocked" option like having the ability to switch between EDGE and 3G? (I heard they disabled that). Or, is there some software out there that can be used to enable that function?

I guess unlocking the phone WILL NOT do the trick.
