To be honest, I haven't been following the threads about this AT ALL, and a quick search of the forums doesn't give a clear answer -- or simply no answer.

I have the choice between getting an unlocked Rogers or Bell BB from someone "special" . I think I'll go with Rogers because apparently Bell needs two unlock codes, which is unnecessary.

However, from my limited knowledge of Bell's new HSPA network vs. Rogers HSPA they run on different bands, so would a Rogers BB work perfectly on Bell as EDGE/3g/the works? I heard that vice versa only works on 3G.

Only a Bell HSPA device will work on the Rogers HSPA network. And vice versa.

If it's a Bold 9700 that should be perfectly fine either way, correct?

Both Rogers and Bell use 850 / 1900 MHz HSPA, BUT I can't definitavly say if Bell does anything special to lock phones,

your Bell Phone theoretically will work on Rogers, and vise versa, but it isn't a forsure, you are taking a gamble

This will NOT work as the 8520 is Edge and below only and Bell is only 3G HSPA.
