If I bring my BB to a unlocking shop and decide to unlock it? Will they reinstall the OS or something, because when I turn off/on my BB it gives me a startup logo of my provider.

    Thanks.

Your BB will ALWAYS give the logo at start-up. Unlocking has no affect on that.

What if I reinstall the OS? Will it get deleted?

But does unlocking delete my contacts/pics, etc?

No, it is burned into the EEPROM on the phone.

And no, unlocking does not affect any data on the device.

Ok thanks. I setup BB email from my provider. Will it get deleted if I unlock it and use another provider? Also, will everything still work like before? (internet, apps, etc)

If it is the blackberry.net email address, if you change carriers then yes, it gets deleted from the handset.

All these questions have been asked before, answered before.

It shouldn't be erased no matter if they use cable unlocking method or remote unlocking. You should be safe. Just make sure they are a reputable dealer.
