Unlocked means you don't need a code to move your phone to a different carrier, you can buy it unbranded. You can simply pop in another SIM card without calling anyone or going to a website to do a swap.

    Hey Terry Mhlanga,
    Fret Madden is correct,

Also if a phone is already unlocked you can use it with any compatible GSM network.

Please note you CAN NOTE use it with a CDMA network like Verizon or Sprint in the states but it can be used with GSM/ some AWS networks such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Simpel Mobile, Telcel, MetroPCS, Rogers, Wind, Mobilicity, Fido, Telus, bell, Koodo, Virgin Mobile Canada, etc.

If anyone has any questions regarding compatible networks feel free to ask or PM anytime

    Cheers!
