Is it possible to take an 8530 that is used on Virgin Mobile and use it as an AT&T Go Phone?
Another Virgin phone I looked at doesn't even use a SIM card for access and I know AT&T requires a SIM card.

    Dom,

I don't believe you can. AT&T is GSM(which requires a SIM card) and Virgin Mobile is CDMA(no SIM card required).

Since they are two different systems, you won't be able to use the 8530 on AT&T.

I actually just read on the Virgin site that the 8530 does come with a SIM slot for "overseas" use.

No, you must be on the Canadian Virgin Mobile site.
The 8530 is CDMA, along with every other device on Virgin Mobile US.
Virgin Mobile US is CDMA and uses Sprint's CDMA network.

Virgin Mobile Canada uses GSM though.
