I contacted Verizon and told them I wanted to use my 9530 in Europe and got the unlock code without any hassle. The rep walked me through the process and it said the code was accepted. So, does this mean I can now use the phone on AT&T or any other GSM network? How do I verify it's actually unlocked?

I thought it was the unlock code. It was a 16-digit number and I said I wanted to use a foreign SIM. I didn't specify Vodafone.

Once it reads code accepted your phone is unlocked. You can find the steps on crackberry or simply go here Activate Storm for GSM Simcards

Are you allowed to make calls now? Have you tried the ##0000 stuff I put up a link for?

I can make calls/use data on Verizon just fine.

I haven't tried the ##0000 stuff as I don't want to activate it on another network. I'm more interested in making the phone more marketable so I can sell it for a Storm 2 when they come out.

Yes this means your phone is unlocked now and you can use it with any GSM sim card.

Once you insert the sim you wish to use in the phone and reboot, you will have to go to Options/Mobile Network and change Technology to GSM/UMTS and then select 2G and your Storm will then work with the SIM card and not your Verizon account.
