And????????? Does Orange not allow certain features to be enabled on devices other than what they sell? Once again just curious, I am with a Canadian carrier so I know very little about Orange and just looking to learn.

Ahhh. Now I understand why. Thank you. But to answer your question, I do not think there is any way yet to do it, I remember they were talking at 1 time of creating a utility to change your vendor ID to 512 for loading of OS's but it was also a 1 way change.

You can do a search for MFI (older berries) on any Forum for Vender reassignment. I did read that waiting for the new MFI would be needed for the newer models and that DM3 (do a search) is used to debrand the 9700....

I am pretty sure that you can't change the Vendor ID. Anyway, even if you could change the Vendor ID, you would have to change the whole VSM file in order to unlock all the features you want.

Yes you can. You may not be able to, but it can be done.
Anyway, even if you could change the Vendor ID,
Thought we covered this? Y-E-S people are able to.

Yes you would. The VSM(Vendor,Splash,Media) file would have to be replaced or edited. Depending on what you wanted to do. Google "Vendor ID +VSM +blackberry +(model)" and that will give you a good idea of what you must do.

    Hi

It is possible to change the vendor ID.

Once the ID is changed the handset needs to be reflashed and the functions available for you new ID will become available.

For example... if you have an 8520 and change vendor id to 603 then reflash... you will have a generic handset for the UK market.
