So I noticed that the verizon storm is the same model as the Telus one.

Now, would I be able to unlock it and use it on the telus network? If so, then how do I go about unlocking it? (I'm a nub).

Unlocking only applies to GSM devices, the Storm is CDMA.

It is up to the carrier to determine if they will accept a foreign device on their network. You should check that out with Telus before you decide.

Service books have nothing to do with it. If the phone is straight CDMA - No,
If it is GSM (SIM card) - Yes. A world phone (CDMA with a SIM card slot also) -
possibly able to unlock the GSM side, only.

Yes you can. Unlocking a Verizon storm ranges from $35USD - 70USD. Contact me if you need your Verizon storm unlocked. Same procedure as unlocking any att, tmobile or rogers phone.

But it always comes down to the esn

    Hex
    Dec

Every carrier has their own batch of esns that they will buy from who manufractures the phones IE RIM sold phones to VZW and gave them the esns all in a data base. A rep can't activate the phone if the esn not in the data base. Aleast that's how it is for CDMA
