Is there a way to unlock the 8100? I go thru TMobile and I hate the pre loaded pictures. I want to delete them but I can't till I get them unlocked.

    Can anyone help me?

To remove the preloaded pictures you will need to modify your OS. Your phone does no have to be unlocked to do this.

Be sure to download and install the OS that is running on your Blackberry to your computer. You can download this from T-Mobile BB Upgrade if it is the official T-Mobile release. Then go here - http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-...-memory-34633/ - and look for the part about deleting the preloaded images.

Also, T-Mobile will give you an unlock code for your phone as long as you have been a customer and the phone has been activated for more than 90 days.

Do you have desktop manager already? If you do then you only need the Handheld Software. If not then download both the Handheld Software and Desktop Manager (for DM it doesn't really matter which version, that is a matter of personal preference.)

If you already installed the OS on your computer, skip step 3.

    1. Backup Phone in DesktopManager.
    2. Unplug phone and close DM.
    3. Install new OS .exe file.
    4. Go to the directory Start / Computer / C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    5. Delete the vendor file. vendor.xml
    6. Go to Start / Computer / C: / Program Files / Common Files / Research in Motion / Shared / Loader Files / (Device OS) / Java
    7. Look for the files named
net_rim_bb_media_240 x 260_b.cod or net_rim_bb_medialoader_240x260_b.cod and remove them. (There will only be one, not 100% sure which name they are in T-Mobile's OS.) There is also one with all of the MyFaves preloaded icons named net_rim_bb_medialoader_100_five_icon_library.cod remove this as well to get rid of those preloaded images. It will not affect your MyFaves.
    8. Plug phone back into PC and let drivers install.
    9. Launch DM
    10. A box should pop up saying there are updates available. Press "Update Now". - If this doesn't come up select App Loader; Update Applications.
    11. Proceed with update.
    12. DO NOT under any circumstance unplug the phone or use the PC while the update is in progress. Do not let screen saver kick in either.
    13. Unplug and use phone ONLY once the update states that it's finished by the DM update software on the screen

    Hope this helps you out!

if u wanna assist in this, just reach herefor more details.
There is no point in paying for an unlock code when T-Mobile will provide one for free.
