Hi. Selling a BB 8520 on Orange. With an old sim card in, I get, after typing MEPD on the simcard menu, NETWORK DISABLED.
Does this mean it is unlocked or do I need an active sim card in of any sort to get a true answer?
    Thanks

The only way to unlock a phone is to pay to get a code from an unlocker, or to get the code from the carrier for free. IF you did none of those, it is still locked.

Thanks for that but it might have been unlocked when it was bought! It is my daughter's phone so was not there when purchased.
I have read that disabled in that menu and all five options say disabled means that it is unlocked.

You might be right. I would go into the unlocking forum and someone with more knowledge of this than I can answer. Please report back, as I am now curious if that is what it means.
