Ok, So I keep hearing about unlocking on forums, blogs, and even on ebay. This is probably a noob question but, can someone please explain to me what the phrase "Unlocked Blackberry" means?

The BlackBerry models that use GSM are locked to the original carrier. It will only accept a matching carrier Subscriber Identity Module (SIM).

In order to change carriers, it can be unlocked. That will allow any carriers SIM card to work correctly.

Your BlackBerry uses CDMA technology, locking does not apply. If you choose to change carriers, it is up to them to allow your device on their network.
