Very interesting.. I thought ATT 9700 only use GSM technology and it will not work on CDMA network.

I unlocked my at&t BB 9700 and am now using(if u can call it that) on Tmobile.... no more 3G only EDGE,no MMS,no email service!! I strongly advise against doing this!! I now have a $400 phone that other than full keyboard functions like a basic phone from 2002

Must mean you bought a nice $400 phone unlocked it, but couldn't do the BIS or BES plan which ALL BB's require in order for those services to work.

Hey Carrier Unlock. I went to your site for unlocking a 9700. It said the turn around time was 5-6 hrs. After I paid for it, it said my product would arrive in 5-7 days. Do you know which one is accurate?

All our BlackBerry codes are delivered instantly and that turnaround time is reflected on our website. We do not have any turnaround time beyond 5 minutes for BlackBerry Devices.

What page specifically are you referring to can you link to it?

I just bought my unlock code from ExpressUnlockCode on this forum. Hopefully the are legit. I will report back results here.

My question is this. My bold 9700 is originally for Cable and Wireless in Panama. How can I tell if this bold will work with 3G and email on T-mobile in the USA (or ATT).

I am going to the USA for 1 month and in the pat with my old bold I just bought a t-mobile month to month plan placed there chip in my old bold and everything worked perfect. Are things different now with the new Bold?

Any clarification on this would be great.

Just stick the sim card in and make sure you have a BIS or a BES plan.

You have to check which frequencies your phone is compatible with. It will work with AT&T 3G or T-Mobile 3G, not both of them...it's going to be one or another.

so the final word is that if i get, for example, a t-mobile bold 9700-i will not be able to use my vzw storm2 sim card and make that unlocked device work?

The Sim card has NOTHING to do with the service on the device

i assume by service you mean gsm or cdma. so i would need to unlock a sprint device for use on vzw network? unlocking is new to me so i'm attempting to get clarification.

Yes correct, but VZW won't activate anything that isn't branded to their network.
