Well, I could not wait any longer and went to Canada yesterday to buy a Rogers Bold. What a gorgeous device and the screen is magnificent. Almost HD! I went to freeyourcellphone.com to get the unlock code, but am still waiting. Are they working on the weekends? Would anyone know if Rogers will unlock it for me when I ask them?

I doubt Rogers will unlock it for you. You may just have to be patient for the code you ordered already.

I have waited soo long, I have no more patience :-). BTW, when I unlock the phone, do I need a SIM card? I do not have one yet, and At&T told me they can't do anything with s Rogers phone until it is unlocked.

well I found an old SIM card, so we are now okay there. Just still waiting on my unlock code from freeyourcellphone.com. I have read in some trhreads hat the PIN needs to be re-assigned from Rogers to AT&T, but no description as how to do that, s I can use BIS

No. You do not need a SIM card to unlock your device.

I unlocked and used my Curve for many month without a SIM card. Of course, only the Browser works over the Wifi connection.

When I ordered my unlock code, there was a 10-14 day disclaimer. I was pleasantly surprised when the email arrived in just a couple days.

Hopefully, you will get a similar level of service.

    Welcome to CrackBerry.

I currently have a bold and i am using it on att without any problems the pin# doesn't need to be reassigned once you get it unlocked everything should work just fine once you put your att timcard in there,

I don't understand that. There are plenty of users here who are using unlocked ROGERS Bold's on AT&T and they have no issues. I don't see how using one on T-Mobile is any different. I plan on doing just that. And for what it's worth, another user here had issues like you are talking about and he was able to fix I and get it working.
