I have a curve that is set up for sprint/nextel. It is brand new and has never been used. I want to use it for my t-mobile account. I have read in some earlier forums that you go to advanced options / sim and type MEPD. I put in the card that came with the phone and get to the SIM screen. I get the SIM card ID #, underneath that I get

    Phone Number:
    Unknown Number

I then type in MEPD and I get

    SIM Unknown
    Network Unknown
    Network Subset Unknown
    Service Provider Unknown
    Corporate Unknown
    Phone Number:
    Unknown Number

I then type MEP2 and I get nothing. What am I doing wrong?

When I try it with my T-mobile SIM card, I get the same screen as above but once I type MEP2 nothing happens. What do I do?

Sprint/Nextel use a totally different network than T-mobile. Unless I missed a huge news flash, it wont work. Nextel uses iDEN, which unless I'm mistaken, cannot be "converted" to a standard GSM SIM.
