I just bought a T-Mobile Bold 9700 and unlocked it to work on my AT&T service but I can't use AIM or BBM. It says I have no data services available although I am able to web browse. My previous phone was an iPhone. Does that have anything to do with this problem? HELP!

    Thanks in advance

You will on get EDGE service with the T-Mobile 9700. T-Mobile uses a different 3G frequency than does AT&T. But you should still have data. Have you entered the Device information into AT&T's BIS system?? AT&T BIS Page

considering you had an iphone before, it sounds just like you dont have a specific blackberry data plan. you need to sign up for a BIS data plan through at&t for blackberry stuff like apps, BBM and push email to work. you can cancel your iphone data plan and get the blackberry one. stuff wont work without it.

I have not...I am going to attempt to register to AT&Ts BIS system now Thanks. Do you know if i have to switch to blackberrys data plan? or would it work on my iPhone data plan?

    *EDIT*

DICTORESNO - Thanks dude. That would make sense actually.

You will have to switch via customer service first.

That's the only problem with switching from the iphone....all data plans aren't created equal!

    Glad you got it working!
But I still don't get why you (and other ppl)
insist on buying a Tmo 9700 when ATT has
the same damn phone capable of their 3G.
Isn't that the whole point of getting a Bold?
