Why in the world would you go buy a Tour to use on T-Mo? 8900?

Anyway, go to network options and switch it to GSM/UMTS

8900 is to small for me and the tour was cheap 130 from verizon so why not?? did that already

Also try updating service books in options.
Did that as well. Its wierd i took it from my dads line which he had a upgrade but when i went to go activate the phone thru his number no problem with making phone calls. So i am assuming the unlock code wasnt good?

When I get home, I can play around with my Wife's TMo SIM and see if I get the same problem.

That's a new one on me. Maybe VZ doesn't want everyone carrying this one off to other carriers like they did the Storm. You've got good signal and EDGE data. Do you have AIM or WLM maybe I can help.

Maybe I'm wrong but if T-Mo is GSM and Ver & Sprint are CDMA, then your tour wont work on a GSM Network in NA

The Blackberry Tour is a Global phone which means both GSM/CDMA may be used for it the phone. Basically it can be used anywhere in the world

Try installing the Tmobile service books for browser and MMS. I have done it many times on different models. If the tour is just like the storm, you might need to add the browser settings. I haven't had a chance to play with one yet but I've unlocked a few already and haven't had a problem with a single one.

I tried that with him last night. This is something new. We got everything working, Data, browser, SMS etc. Just no phone calling? It's odd.

This phone was not designed to work on an American GSM network. This phone will NOT work on T-Mo/ATT American networks. This is not a flaw it is by design.

Please see: BlackBerry - Wifi PDA - Wi-Fi Enabled BlackBerry Smartphones - Wireless Networking

Notice United States is not on these lists!
You are sadly mistaken. It *WILL* work on American networks as it is a QUADBAND GSM radio! It just has to be unlocked first.

Umm, now correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a cdma phone, you have a sim provided to you by your cdma network for international roaming on gsm networks. However, this sim was not meant to be used locally, so why not switch the phone from GSM (which if you want to work in North America has to be set to 2g not 3g anyhow) to 1xEV or even Global... Let me know if that works for ya...

Plus if you want to use it on another North American network that uses GSM it DOES have to be unlocked first, and also set to 2g not 3g...
