Google Maps 3.0.2 works quite nicely with the internal GPS on the Storm and is accurate to 10 meters in good conditions (i.e. clear view of the sky).

bb_craze, I think Verizon shoved superglue into the keyhole on their units!!!!! You can't get the lock-picking tools into the slot!!!!

On the Verizon phones the GPS is locked and will not work with any other 3rd party apps. They want you to pay the $9.99 monthly fee for VZNavigator. However the BBMaps works on the Verizon phones. It's not as flashy as some of the other applications out there, but for your location and driving directions, it works just fine. I'm not sure why BBMaps works since the GPS is supposed to be locked.

I have tried it several times running OS .113, downgrading to .86, and still no luck w/ 3rd party.

FOR ANYONE ON VERIZON that has a Blackberry 8330.

if you have or higher please try this to enable basic GPS on the maps app.

    goto settings, advanced, GPS,
change the "GPS Services: setting. toggle it back and forth a few times and make sure to save your setting in between. end with "location on"

then do a full power off and restart.
try out the basic maps program.

this process worked to enable my GPS that didnt work until today

i have had this phone since may 2008.
This did the trick for me. My GPS wasn't working at all, and I wasn't going to pay for VZNavigator. I just figured VZW had locked BBMaps out like the other things they screw with. VERY happy with this little trick. THANK YOU!!
