    I purchased a used unlocked vzw tour that someone had unlocked. I spoke with a customer service rep to activate it and all went well until I tried the final activation step (*228) from the tour. It failed. The rep said the phone was not reported as lost or stolen so they did not know why it wouldn't have worked. Any ideas??

    BTW, I had a Tour purchased through VZW but it was stolen a week ago.

    Make sure its not set to UMTS/3G under network connections

    Does the phone dial out? Check Options/Mobile Network like Carrier said and make sure you set Network Technology to 1XEV.
